... The music style of the flute can be considered from two aspects: the rhythm and the tuning. There are three rhythm styles: Nori-byōshi for awase-fuki, Watari-byōshi, and Ashirai-byōshi for ashirai-fuki. The first two are used only for hayashigoto, in which case the rhythm style for the percussion instruments is Nori-byōshi.
