Ageboushi - Ageboushi
A headgear used by upper-class women of samurai and commoners in the Edo period to protect their hair. It is also called a swallowtail hat because its shape resembles a butterfly. After the Meiji period, it changed into a tsunokakushi (a type of headgear worn at weddings).
