Vanua Levu Island (English spelling)
It is the second largest volcanic island in Fiji in the South Pacific. It has an area of ​​5,556 km2 and a population of about 100,000. There is a deep inlet in the southeast, and the Deketi River forms a relatively large basin that flows through the northwest, and rice is cultivated in part of the basin. The northern part of the central mountain range, which is a long chain of mountains nearly 1,000 meters above sea level, is dry, but it is home to the island's capital, Labasa (Labasa). Sugarcane cultivation is thriving in the surrounding area, there is a refinery, and the port is bustling with shipping. The majority of people here are Indians.
