Founded Meisei Gakuen in 1924 and Kanazawa Women's College in 1946, and worked to put liberal education into practice. Died February 26, 1974, aged 86. Born in Ishikawa Prefecture. Graduated from Hiroshima Higher Normal School. Her maiden name was Yamamoto. Her works include "Education of Love and Reason."
