Japanese: 滑稽雑談 - こっけいぞうだん

Haiku Saijiki. Written by Shijido Kigen. Completed in August 1713 (3rd year of Shotoku). 24 volumes of manuscripts. The reason for its creation is that it is a commentary on seasonal words, as written in the preface: "I have been deeply committed to this path since my youth, and having glanced at the few books I have read, I have only thought that it would be useful for haiku." It contains 2286 items on seasonal laws, events, famous places, etc., arranged in monthly order. The explanations are the most detailed of any book of its kind, and are based widely on Japanese and Chinese books, with the author's own observations and knowledge added to verify them. The author was the head priest of Maruyama Shoami in Kyoto, and a disciple of Miyagawa Shoken.

俳諧歳時記。四時堂其諺（しじどうきげん）著。1713年(正徳3)8月成立。写本24巻。成立のゆえんは，自序に〈余若年より此道に執深く，わづかの書籍を管見するに，俳諧の便ならん事を而已おもへり〉と記した，季語注釈書である。四季の時令，行事，名物等を月の順に配列して2286項目を収録。説明は類書中最も詳密で，ひろく和漢の書を典拠とし，著者の見聞を加えて考証する。著者は京都円山正阿弥の住職で，宮川松堅（しようけん）門。
