…After the novel The Death of a Man (1911), he wrote the Psyché trilogy (1922-29), which explored the mysteries of united life while discussing the various aspects of the physical and mental affection between husband and wife. The epic 27-volume novel Les hommes de bonne volonté (The Good Men) (1932-47) was a grand expression of this unsystematic thought, known as unanimisme. It was a work that attempted to portray European society from 1908 to 1933 in three dimensions, featuring more than 1,000 characters. …
