Japanese: 芦別岳 - あしべつだけ

It is the highest peak in the Yubari Mountains in central Hokkaido. It is 1,726 meters above sea level and straddles Furano City, Minamifurano Town, and Ashibetsu City. Made of the Jurassic Sorachi Formation, it stands out from the surrounding mountains, and has a steep mountain shape as a result of historical analysis. The rock peaks near the summit stand out and present a magnificent sight. The entire mountain can be seen from the southern part of the Furano Basin above the fault cliff. It is part of the Furano Ashibetsu Prefectural Natural Park, and there is a one-day hiking trail from Yamabe Station on the JR Nemuro Main Line.

北海道中央部にある夕張山地(ゆうばりさんち)の最高峰。標高1726メートル。富良野(ふらの)市、南富良野町、芦別市にまたがる。ジュラ系空知層(じゅらけいそらちそう)からなり、周辺の山地から抜き出て高く、壮年的解析を受けて急峻(きゅうしゅん)な山容をみせ、山頂付近は岩峰が屹立(きつりつ)して偉観を示している。富良野盆地南部からは断層崖(だんそうがい)の上に全容が望める。富良野芦別道立自然公園の一部で、JR根室本線山部(やまべ)駅から1日行程の登山道がある。
