...Mahāsthān, to the northeast, is said to have been the capital of the former Pundravardhana state, and ruins dating back to the Gupta period are scattered inside and outside its walls, and excavated items include stone carvings from the Gupta period. Several Buddhist temple sites have been excavated around Maināmatī, near the city of Komira in the southeast, and one of them, called Sharban Monastery, is slightly smaller than the one in Paharpur but has a similar layout and was also decorated with terracotta panels.
