International Conference of Scientific Union

Japanese: 国際学術連合会議 - こくさいがくじゅつれんごうかいぎ（英語表記）International Conference of Scientific Union

Founded in 1931, it is a non-governmental, non-profit international academic organization. It is composed of international academic organizations such as the International Mathematical Union and national academies such as the US National Academy of Sciences and the Royal Society of London. From Japan, the Science Council of Japan is a member of the national academy. Its secretariat is in Paris. It has carried out large-scale international joint research programs, either alone or in collaboration with international organizations such as UNESCO, such as the International Geophysical Year (IGY, 1957-58), the World Climate Research Programme (WCRP, 1980-), and the International Geosphere-Biosphere Programme (IGBP, 1986-).

1931年に設立された非政府、非営利の国際学術機関。国際数学連盟などの国際的な学会組織と全米科学アカデミー、ロンドン王立協会などの国家アカデミーで構成される。日本からは、日本学術会議が国家アカデミー会員として加入している。事務局はパリにある。国際地球観測年(IGY、1957〜58年)や世界気候研究計画(WCRP、80年〜)、地球圏・生物圏国際共同研究計画(IGBP、86年〜)といった大規模な国際共同研究計画を単独で、あるいはユネスコなどの国際機関と共同で実施してきている。
