Mattiwaza

...During Suppiluliuma I's two campaigns, the capital of the Mitanni Kingdom, Wassuganni, fell and Tushratta was assassinated. After that, the Mitanni Kingdom became a Hittite protectorate and was temporarily restored under Tushratta's son, Mattiwaza (Kurtiwaza), but was absorbed into Assyria and destroyed. The capital of the Mitanni Kingdom, Wassuganni, is believed to have been located in the upper reaches of the Khabur River, but has not yet been discovered.
