...The excavation of a large number of cuneiform clay tablet documents is expected to shed light on Syria's history from the 3rd to 2nd millennium BC and its relationship with Mesopotamia. The huge tell is surrounded by a rampart with a circumference of about 900m on the long side and about 700m on the short side, and has been excavated since 1964 by a research team from the University of Rome led by P.
