Fu Jian

First emperor of the Qin (Former Qin) dynasty of China. Reigned 351-355. His father, Fu Hong, was the chief of the Di tribe in Lueyang (Qin'an County, Gansu Province), and took advantage of the civil war in Later Zhao to establish his own province in Fuhan (Linxia County, Gansu Province), but was killed by General Ma Qiu. Fu Hong's third son, Fu Jian, defeated Ma Qiu, advanced to Chang'an, proclaimed himself Heavenly King, and then became emperor in 351 (the 1st year of the Huangshi era). Fu Jian valued frugality, worked hard at government affairs, treated local leaders with courtesy, and valued Confucianism, restoring the lives of the people in the Guanzhong region, which had been devastated by war.

中国，秦(前秦)の初代皇帝。在位351‐355年。父の苻洪は略陽(甘粛省秦安県)の氐（てい）族の長で，後趙の内乱に乗じて枹罕（ふかん）(甘粛省臨夏県)に自立したが，部将麻秋に殺された。苻洪の第3子である苻健は麻秋を滅ぼし，長安に進撃して天王を称し，ついで351年(皇始1)帝位についた。苻健は倹約を重んじ政務に励み地域の指導者を礼遇し儒学をたっとんで，戦乱のために荒廃した関中地方の民生をよみがえらせた。
