Kijimadaira [village] - Kijimadaira

Japanese: 木島平[村] - きじまだいら

A village in Shimotakai District, northeastern Nagano Prefecture. Population 5,850 (1995). Located on the east bank of the Chikuma River, in the southeastern part of the Iiyama Basin, the western part is occupied by the alluvial fans of the Taru River and Maguse River, tributaries of the Chikuma River. It borders Iiyama City to the north and west, and Nakano City to the southwest. National Route 403 runs through the west, and the Okushiga Forest Road runs through the east. The main industries are agriculture, mainly rice and enoki mushroom cultivation, but in recent years there have been many commuters to surrounding cities. As the area receives heavy snowfall, washi paper (Uchiyama paper) has long been produced as a side job in the winter.

長野県北東部，下高井郡の村。人口5850(1995)。千曲川東岸，飯山盆地南東部に位置し，西部は千曲川の支流樽川と馬曲（まぐせ）川の扇状地が占める。北～西は飯山市，南西部は中野市に接する。西部を国道403号線が，東部を奥志賀林道がそれぞれ縦断する。主産業は米作，エノキタケ栽培を中心とする農業であるが，近年周辺都市への通勤者も多い。豪雪地帯であるため冬季の副業として古くから和紙(内山紙)の生産が行われる。
