Padagogik (English spelling)

...An academic discipline that seeks to grasp the overall structure of educational phenomena in a unified manner, including individual research on various fields and issues of educational phenomena, such as the essence, purpose, content, methods, and even systems and administration of education.
[Pedagogy as the study of teaching]
The word "education" did not come from China, but began to be used in the 1880s as a translation of the European word pedagogy (Pädagogik in German, pédagogie in French). The first work to use this word was "Education" (1882) by Izawa Shuji.
