Among the many mythological groups, Greek mythology provides the most extensive information regarding the origins of stars and constellations. According to Greek mythology, the stars were the children of Eos, the goddess of dawn, and Astraios, the god of the sky. There are also many stories about the origins of constellations, such as the Hyades, which became the Hyades star cluster, the Pleiades, which became the Pleiades, and Orion, whose name is left in the constellation Orion.
