Sabah - Fat'Alī Khān abā (English spelling)

Persian poet. Born in Kashan. He first served the Zand dynasty, but after the dynasty's fall, he served as poet laureate to King Fat Ali Shah of the Qajar dynasty, laying the foundations for the dynasty's court poets. He is a representative poet who restored the Khorasan style from the Iraqi style, and excelled in odes in particular. He was a prolific poet, and is also known for his epic poem "The Book of Kings," a poem of over 40,000 verses praising his patron king and his prince.

ペルシアの詩人。カーシャーンに生まれる。初めザンド朝に仕えるが、同朝滅亡後カジャール朝のファタ・アリー・シャー王に桂冠(けいかん)詩人として仕え、同朝宮廷詩人の基礎を築いた。イラク・スタイルからホラサーン・スタイルに復帰させた代表的詩人で、とくに頌詩(しょうし)に秀でた。多作で、パトロンの王とその王子をたたえる4万句を超す叙事詩『帝王の書』でも知られる。
