A Chinese government official in the middle Tang dynasty. His pen name was Taichong. He was the son of Han Xiu, a famous minister during the Xuanzong period. He served under his father's shadow, was invited by the military governor to become a judge and served in various regions. He later joined the central government and was appointed as the Right Secretary of the Secretariat and Kobujiro. During the Taili era (766-779), he made a name for himself as a financial official by working to build up the national treasury, but sometimes went too far and caused harm to the people and officials. He later served as governor of Suzhou and Runzhou, and worked hard to manage the Jiangnan region. In an era of frequent conflicts between the feudal domains and towns, he focused on building castles and defenses so that the emperor could be welcomed to this region in the event of an emergency. He also made an outstanding contribution to transporting grain from Jianghuai to Guanzhong. At the beginning of the Zhengyuan era (785-804), he was appointed as the Left Minister of the Left and the Minister of the Left, and was made Duke of Jin. After his death, he was awarded the title of Grand Tutor. He was skilled in calligraphy and painting, and wrote the works "Shunju Tongli" and "Tenbunji Jogi."
