They wove Nishiki, Aya, Tsumugi, Ra, and other fabrics, and also dyed threads of various colors. The staff included one Kami, one Suke, one Sakan, four Ayatorishi, and eight Ayatorisho. In the Taiho Code, there were four "Ayatori". With the introduction and development of new weaving techniques, Ayatorishi were dispatched to various regions in 711 (4th year of Wadou) to provide technical guidance.
