Oribe Pottery

Japanese: 織部陶 - おりべとう
Oribe Pottery
Pottery said to be based on designs favored by Furuta Oribe. Also known as Oribe ware. The types of vessels range widely from tea bowls, hand bowls, and mukouzuke (ceremonial dishes) to everyday items, and many of the pieces feature green and iron and have innovative, deformed designs. Depending on the style, they are called E-Oribe, Ao-Oribe, Kuro-Oribe, and Narumi-Oribe. Kiln remains have been discovered from Toki City, Gifu Prefecture to Kukuri, Kani County, and the products of the Kujiri Motoyashiki, Ohira, and Yashichida kilns in the Tajimi region are excellent.
