...Located in Selenge Aimak in north-central Mongolia, 250 km northwest of Ulan Bator, this Lamaist temple is called Amarbayaskhranthit in Mongolian. It was built as the family temple of Bogd Gegen I (1635-1723), head of the Yellow Hat (Geru) sect of Outer Mongolia, by order of the Qing Emperor Yongzheng.
