A military commander during the Goryeo period in Korea. As Minister of War and Pyongyang's caretaker, he raised an army in September of the 4th year of the reign of Myeongjong (1174) in opposition to the tyranny of Jeong Jung-bu and others in the Gyeongin Rebellion. The army was initially successful and reached the outskirts of Kaegyeong, but was suppressed two years later and Jo Ii-chung was killed. The serfs who joined the army became the fuse for the nationwide peasant wars that lasted for the next 30 years.

朝鮮，高麗時代の武将。兵部尚書，西京 (平壌) 留守職であった彼は「庚寅の乱」による鄭仲夫 (ていちゅうふ) らの専横に反対して明宗4 (1174) 年9月挙兵した。この挙兵は一時優勢で開京郊外まで迫ったが，2年後に鎮圧され，趙位寵は殺された。この軍に参加した農奴たちがその後 30年間にわたる全国的な農民戦争の導火線となった。
