photo journalism

...A term used in Japan to refer to the publishing format or method of newspapers, magazines, etc. that mainly use illustrations such as photographs and images. When the main focus is on photographs, it is called photo journalism, but there is no strict distinction between the two. In English-speaking countries, the words to refer to things like "life" and "look" are usually photojournalism or pictorial journalism, and the term graphic journalism is not used.
