Pietroasa

…The remains of a monument commemorating the victories of Trajan near the village of Adamclissi date to this period, and many reliefs and inscriptions remain. As for works from the later period of migration, 22 metalwork objects discovered in Pietroasa in 1837 are thought to be the work of the Goths in the 4th century. Metalwork objects excavated in Sînnicolaul Mare in 1779 (then part of Hungary, and now in the Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna as the "Treasure of Nagyszentmiklós" after the Hungarian place name) may date to the 9th or 10th century, but as they were created during a period of turmoil when Hungarians were migrating and settling, and contain Sassanid and Islamic motifs, opinions are divided as to which people they belonged to. …
