Pigafetta published Kongo Words and Sentences (1591), a bilingual Christian catechism in Portuguese and Kongo, Dutrina Cristan (1624), and G. Brusciotto published a four-language dictionary in Kongo, Portuguese, Italian and Latin (1650) and a Grammar Compendium of the Kongo Language (1659, translated into English in 1882 and Portuguese in 1886).
