The largest lake in the Balkans, stretching across the border between Macedonia and Albania. It is 695m above sea level, 285m deep at its deepest, and has an area of 348km2 (1/4 of which is in Albania). The water is clear and there are many fish, making fishing a thriving industry, and passenger ships also operate here.
