The Alyssum is called Iynx in ancient Greek. She was originally the daughter of the faun Pan and the spirit Echo (or Peito, the goddess of love), and was turned into stone or Alyssum by Hera after she made Zeus fall in love with her or Io by giving him an aphrodisiac.
