Aburasaka Pass - Aburasaka Pass

A pass on the border between Gifu and Fukui prefectures. It is about 810 meters above sea level. National Route 158, which connects Shirotori Town, Gujo City, Gifu Prefecture and Izumi District, Ono City, Fukui Prefecture, passes through a tunnel under the pass, and the slope of the road on the west side of the pass (Ono City) is gentler than that on the east side (Gujo City). Until around 1893 (Meiji 26), there was no road along the Kuzuryu River leading to Fukui and Ono, so the residents of the upper Anauma district crossed the pass to communicate with the Gujo area.

岐阜・福井県境にある峠。標高約810メートル。岐阜県郡上市(ぐじょうし)白鳥(しろとり)町と福井県大野市和泉(いずみ)地区を結ぶ国道158号が、峠の下をトンネルで通過しており、峠西側（大野市）の斜面の道路は東側（郡上市）より緩やかである。1893年（明治26）ごろまでは、福井、大野方面へ出る九頭竜(くずりゅう)川沿いの道が開けてなかったので、上流の上穴馬(あなま)地区の住民は、峠を越えて郡上方面と交流していた。
