Order: Chiroptera, Family: Pteropidae. Forearm length: 5-6cm, body length: about 8cm. Body color: dark brown. Long tail that protrudes outside the membrane. Named after the fact that it sometimes drags its tail while walking. Large, round ears. Long, narrow wings allow it to fly at high speeds in the air. Inhabits Japan, Korea, Ussuri region, and China, but there are very few records of it being collected in Japan, and it has been caught on fishing boats and among piles of firewood in houses.

翼手目オヒキコウモリ科。前腕長5～6cm，体長 8cm内外。体はこげ茶色。尾が長く，膜外に突き出る。尾を引きずって歩くことがあるのでその名がある。耳介は丸くて大きい。翼は狭長で，高空を高速度で飛翔することができる。日本，朝鮮半島，ウスリー地方，中国に分布するが，日本での採集の記録はきわめて少く，漁船の中，人家に積上げられたたきぎの間などで捕えられている。
