A town in Tamura County in the Abukuma Highlands in central-eastern Fukushima Prefecture. Its center is Ononiimachi, located upstream of the Natsui River. It developed as a post station and castle town, and was once a center for horse breeding. The Ban'etsu East Line runs through the town. It produces rice and tobacco leaves.
