People who have this hobby are called bibliophiles, and when it reaches an extreme state it is called bibliomania, and a person who is obsessed with it is called a bibliomaniac, and they are translated as book enthusiasts or bookworms. Book lovers and bibliophiles do not necessarily overlap. Also, just because someone owns a large number of books does not necessarily make them a bibliophile. There are also cases where a book dealer's collection of books is merely decoration for a living room or necessary books for research. Conversely, in a world governed by economic principles, even a bibliophile may only have a few books. Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
