Salala (English spelling)

...Due to the influence of the monsoon, the rainy season from June to October brings 750 mm of rainfall, which is rare for the Arabian Peninsula, and the region is rich in greenery and produces frankincense. The region is divided into three areas: the plains around the state capital Salalah, the mountainous area in the northwest, and the rocky plateau in the north. Land transportation to northern Oman is difficult, and the Dhofar independence movement intensified for a time with the support of neighboring South Yemen.
