Born: April 7, 1870, Karlsruhe Died May 2, 1919, Munich. German critic. Influenced by Kropotkin, he wrote Aufruf zum Sozialismus (1911) and other works from an anarchist standpoint. He also wrote Der Todesprediger (1893) and translated works by O. Wilde and GB Shaw. He joined the far-left ranks in the street fighting in Munich and was killed while fighting against government forces.
