Sa'ūd b. 'Abd al-'Aziz (English spelling)

...Abd al-Aziz had to adapt to the new era after oil development within the traditions of tribal society and Wahhabism, and after a period of trial and error in his rule, he died in 1953. During the reign of his successor, Sa'ūd b. 'Abd al-'Aziz (1902-69, reigned 1953-64), he faced the deepening Cold War between the East and the West and the rise of Arab nationalism, and implemented policies with great fluctuations, especially in relation to Egypt, which had changed from a monarchy to a republic with the Egyptian Revolution in 1952.
