Japanese: 信楽[町] - しがらき

An old town in Koka County in southern Shiga Prefecture. It occupies the mountainous area in the upper reaches of the Daido River. It is known for producing Shigaraki ware, including braziers and flower pots. Asamiya in the west is a tea-producing region, and the area also produces rice and vegetables. The remains of Shigaraki Palace are located here. The Shigaraki Kogen Railway runs through the town. In October 2004, it merged with the towns of Minakuchi, Tsuchiyama, Koka, and Konan in Koka County to form Koka City. ^{Area: 164.34 km2} . Population: 14,229 (2003).
