...The body is cylindrical and elongated, and some have degenerated limbs that resemble fins. Four species are found in Japan, including the Tsushima lizard Scincella vandenburghi found in Tsushima and the Sakishima lizard S. boettgeri found in Miyakojima and the Yaeyama Islands, both of which are small, measuring less than 13 cm in total length. The body scales are smooth and shiny, and the limbs are small.
