Futagoyama Kofun

Japanese:
Futagoyama Kofun
The shape of the keyhole-shaped tumuli gradually changed to one with the front section being larger, and by the second half of the 5th century they had finally taken on the appearance of two mounds placed side by side. In later times, there was a trend to give them names such as Futagoyama, Futagozuka, and Futago (Twin)zuka. The reason why there are particularly many tumuli called Futagoyama in the Kanto region is due to regional differences in naming methods. Uji Futagoyama Tomb (Kyoto Prefecture), Osu Futagoyama Tomb (Aichi Prefecture), and Soja Futagoyama Tomb (Gunma Prefecture) are particularly famous.
