Rotary coordinate system

Japanese: 回転座標系 - かいてんざひょうけい（英語表記）rotatory coordinate system

A coordinate system that rotates around an axis relative to an inertial coordinate system. For example, a coordinate system fixed to a merry-go-round. A coordinate system fixed to the Earth is also a rotating coordinate system if rotation is taken into account. The equations of motion that determine the motion seen from a rotating coordinate system are the force terms of Newton's equations of motion plus three types of apparent forces (centrifugal force, Coriolis force, and lateral inertial force. → Inertial forces). These apparent forces are caused by the rotation of the coordinate system.

慣性座標系に対してある軸のまわりに回転している座標系。たとえば，メリーゴーランドに固定した座標系。地球に固定した座標系も自転を考慮すれば回転座標系である。回転座標系からみた運動を決める運動方程式はニュートンの運動方程式の力の項に3種の見かけの力 (遠心力，コリオリの力，横慣性力。→慣性力 ) を加えたものとなる。これらの見かけの力は座標系の回転に起因する。
