…A free thinker born into a distinguished family in Siena, Italy. He was the successor to the anti-Trinitarian doctrine advocated by his uncle Lelio Sozzini (1525-62). After studying law, Lelio turned his attention to the Reformation and became acquainted with reformers both at home and abroad, but he eventually formed a free group that denied the doctrine of the Trinity and died in Zurich.
