Symptomatic epilepsy

[Classification by etiology]
There are two types of epilepsy: genuine epilepsy, which is mainly caused by predisposing factors, and symptomatic epilepsy, which is caused by organic brain damage. Even in the symptomatic case, some people develop epilepsy due to the same degree of brain damage, while others do not, and genetic predisposition plays a role to some extent in developing epilepsy.
