Oku [town] - Oku
A former town in Oku District, in the southeastern part of Okayama Prefecture. The Ako Line runs through the town. The Sencho Plain in the Yoshii River delta is one of the prefecture's leading grain-producing areas. Remains of the jori system remain in the Sencho River basin. Nagashima Island is located at the eastern end of the town. In November 2004, the town merged with Ushimado Town and Osafune Town in Oku District to become Setouchi City. 68.70 km2 . Population: 19,759 (2003).
