Tapirus terrestris (English spelling)

...A general term for four species of mammals belonging to the family Tapiridae (Perissodactyla) and genus Tapir. The three species, the Brazilian tapir ( Tapirus terrestris ), Baird's tapir (T. bairdi ), and mountain tapir (T. pinchaque ), are found in South America, Central America, and Mexico, while the Malayan tapir (T. indicus) (illustration) is found in Myanmar, Thailand, the Malay Peninsula, and Sumatra. They are 180-250cm long, 5-10cm long, and weigh 225-300kg.
