...This dramatizes the Yanagisawa Uprising, using the Kaga Sobutsu no Kikigaki (Manuscript of the Kagamiyama Kuruwa) as a metaphor, with Shogun Tsunayoshi as the head of Taga and Yanagisawa Yoshiyasu as Mochizuki Tatewaki. In the Meiji era, Kawatake Mokuami's Ura Omote Yanagi no Uchiwae (The Two-Sided Willow Group Picture) at the Nakamuraza Theater in Tokyo in August 1875 was a work that mixed the story of the Yanagisawa Uprising with the domestic drama story of Dewaya Chugoro and Musashiya Tokubei. Uno Nobuo's Yanagikagezawa no Hotarubi (Fireworks of Yanagikagezawa), which was performed at the National Theater in May 1970, was widely acclaimed as a masterpiece.
