Mugi [town] - Mugi
A former town in Mugi County in the central-southern part of Gifu Prefecture. It borders Seki City to the north, and the Tsubo River, a tributary of the Nagara River, flows roughly north-south through the center of the town. Most of the town is forested and wilderness, with a small amount of lowland along the Tsubo River. In addition to rice cultivation, sericulture and shiitake mushroom cultivation are thriving, and chestnut and tea production is also carried out. In February 2005, it was incorporated into Seki City along with the Mugi County villages of Mugegawa Town, Horado Village, Itadori Village, and Kaminoho Village. 65.27 km2 . 4,244 people (2003).
