... Also called Tarsia. It is one family and one genus, and there are three species: the Philippine Tarsius , which lives in the southern Philippines; the Celebes Tarsius , which lives in the Celebes region; and the Horsfield's Tarsius, which lives in Borneo and Sumatra (illustration). The head is large and round, and the face is flat because the nose and mouth are very weakly protruding, and the very large, forward-facing eyes are convenient for stereoscopic vision in the trees.
