…(2) In the early Yi dynasty, the government pursued a policy of breaking away from the simple adoption of Chinese agricultural books and systematizing Korea's own agricultural methods. As a result, the Nongji Jikse (first published in 1430) was compiled by order of King Sejong, and the Geumyang Jarrok (written by Kang Hee-meng, 1492), which describes the agricultural conditions in the Gwacheon region of Gyeonggi Province, was also compiled. The former in particular compiled techniques for direct sowing of rice paddies and three-cropping in two years for field crops, and had a great influence on subsequent agricultural books. …
