...The legume is flattened, rectangular with rounded ends, 2-2.5 cm wide. The very similar C. angustifolia Vahl. has narrower leaves and the legume is less than 2 cm wide. Its English name is Indian senna, as it grows abundantly in India, or Tinnevelly senna, based on its local name. The leaves of both species are called senna leaves, and are used as a laxative and for constipation.
