〘 noun 〙 A type of banishment punishment by the Edo Shogunate. The criminal was banished to Shinagawa, Itabashi, Senju, Yotsuya Okido, Honjo, and Fukagawa. If the criminal was from outside Edo, he was not allowed to enter his own village or town, and depending on the type of crime, his fields, house, and belongings could be confiscated. → Banishment within 10 ri of Edo.
