Gawataro - Gawataro

...One of the best-known yokai in Japan, it is said to live in water bodies such as rivers and ponds. The name kappa was originally used in the Kanto region, and in some places it is called enkou, gawataro, hyosube, medochi, suijin, or suiko. Its shape and attributes vary considerably depending on the region, but the general characteristics that are widely known throughout the country are that it has the appearance of a young child, a plate on top of its head, and the so-called bob-cut hairstyle.
