The third king of the Taungoo dynasty in Burma (reigned 1551-81). Also called Braginoco. Brother-in-law of the previous king, Tabinshweti, he ruled over Pegu (Bago) in the south, Aba and Shwebo in the north, Chiang Mai in the east, and Laos. He also occupied the Thai capital of Ayutthaya (1564, 1569) and paid tribute to the Ming through Yunnan. He worked hard to build pagodas and temples, and compiled the Dhamma That (a code of customary law).

ビルマ(→ミャンマー),タウングー朝第3代の王(在位 1551~81)。Braginocoともいう。前王タビンシュエティーの義弟で,南はペグー(バゴー),北はアバ,シュエボウ,東はチエンマイ,ラオスを支配した。さらにタイの都アユタヤを占領し(1564,1569),またユンナン(雲南)を通じ明へ朝貢した。仏塔,寺院の建立に努め,ダンマタッ(慣習法典)を編集した。
