…In Soviet Russia, it first developed as part of the movement of the proletarian cultural organization Proletklit, which held its first congress in 1918, just after the establishment of the Soviet government, and carried out educational activities such as the creation of revolutionary songs and workers' choral movements. This spread throughout the world, and the actions of the German Workers' and Singers' Union and its participants, such as composers Eisler and Heinz Tiessen (1887-1971), were one example of this.
